ADOPTING A CAT: Adopting a pet means a life commitment for a precious life. Are you able to provide a stable home for the rest of his/her life? Please THINK before you CALL.
All MHS cats have been spayed or neutered (age and health permitting), vaccinated, and given a microchip. Adoption fees are shown in most cat profiles. They are:
           Senior - over 7 years ... $58
           Adult - (6 months to 7 years) ... $128
           Kitten - (under 6 months) ... $178 ($100 is refunded upon proof of spay/neuter)

Sometimes people ask which pets are hardest to find adoptive homes for. They are the older ones, and in the case of cats particularly the black cats who are victims of so many myths. The pets at the bottom of this page are those who have been with us the longest.

I can pull him out from under his hiding spot (the bed) and onto my lap and he will purr.. yes, he is scared initially and is on the timid side, but he has not bitten or scratched me and appears to want to know more about me. He is curious and has BIG yellow eyes that seem to take alot in. I think he will do well in a home with a gentle male cat who he can be friends and buddy up with. I would get along with just about any family, but I must warn you, I need a good dose of affection. "Bobby appeared in my yard this summer thin and dehydrated; since then he has transformed into a loving domestic cat who gets more friendly every day. Bobby is ready to move from temporary shelter and find his very own home. He likes listening to classical music, and just running around. Bobby is gentle by nature. He loves attention and needs lots of space. He would not do well in a small apartment or condo or in a home where people are largely absent. He has been fine with docile female cats and other neutered male cats."
Bobby has been neutered, had his vaccines, is micro-chipped, has tested negative for major feline illnesses, and has recently had his teeth cleaned. He is in great and athletic health. His energy level is that of a very young cat.
