Many thanks to everyone who supported our annual walk-a-thon on Sept. 20, 2008. It is always our biggest fundraising event of the year, and this one was our most successful to date! It was great to see so many happy dogs (and their people) come out to show their support. We could not have asked for better weather. It was a day filled with fun. Besides BBQ (veggie!), we had a table selling MHS T-shirts,
MHS bags,
pet
beds, stuffed
cats, etc.,
raffles of wonderful prizes, “Ask the Vet”, “Animal Communicator” and a game table for kids. Everyone had a great time and we are happy to say that more than $16,000 was raised! Lots of photos were in the October issue of The Pet Chat, the MHS newsletter.

Staff at LCBO Store #334 in Meadowvale organized a great fundraiser in support of the Mississauga Humane Society. For the month of September they sold tickets on a fabulous array of raffle prizes as well as loot bags that were filled with surprises. On Sept. 27 they hosted a BBQ and silent auction. It was a hugely successful event!
We're delighted that over $7,000 was raised. Many thanks to our volunteer Sue Namedof who arranged the event, and to the LCBO management and staff for working so hard to help our animals.
SNAP Magazine covered the fundraiser: read it here.
